And it was the 1 year anniversary of the births and deaths of our two sons Helakoa and Nahoa.
Scotty took the day off of work and our little family with Grandma Joelyn in tow headed for the Laie Temple. It was the first time we've been able to go in almost 2 years! Last year I spent most of my time in either on Bed rest or in the Hospital and the past several months have been a big transition period for us as we've become first time parents.
It was the perfect opportunity for us to renew and remember our commitments to our Father in Heaven and served as a wonderful reminder that we can be with our boys again one day. Grandma watched Hoku while Scotty and I attended a Session.
Afterwards we took pictures of Hoku in the Visitors Center in front of a giant picture window that looked out to the Temple.
It was a rainy day and her cute smiles and laughs really captured what a joy and blessing she has been amidst the stormy days we've had. She truly is a Star Shining Brightly and brings us such joy.
After our visit to the Temple, Grandma treated us to GIANT Shave Ice. My favorite it Vanilla Cherry.
On our way home we took Hoku to visit her brothers' resting place at Hawaii Memorial Park. We still have yet to get a marker for them. It was kind of sad to see that the plots surrounding them were starting to fill in but also a little comforting to know that they aren't alone and that there are other families who are going through what we are. (They are in a section specially designated for infants and children).
I was grateful to have Hoku in our arms.
I am eternally grateful for my Forever Family.
