Breaking Dawn till practically dawn!

IMG_1657

Ok - I KNOW there is probably ONLY a couple people reading my blog, and I've probably widdled down my audience a lot more by having so many Twilight posts....but I just CAN'T help myself!
As you know the Breaking Dawn DVD/Blu Ray release occurred this month. So around 9:00 pm on Friday, February 10th you would have found me, my friend Shelly, and my mother-in-law Joelyn, driving around Ewa Beach in search for a Breaking Dawn Release party occurring at friend's house. I, of course, was wearing my Breaking Dawn shirt and we had our "Wolf Pack Wieners" in tow to contribute to the twilight themed party.

The party started at 6 pm but I was worried about being too early and having to wait around, so I stuck around my place to kill some time…before I knew it, it was after 8:30pm! Little did we know that it was only the beginning of our 85.13 mile adventure!

-By the time we arrived, all the guest had already left to stand in line to get the movie at Target. So we got into the car to head to Target.

-Got to Target- found out there were no more "special tickets" to get the ultra-hyped up copy of the "exclusive" special edition of Breaking Dawn. They were SUPER lame as they made you pick up "special" tickets at 9pm and then wait around till 12 am to pick up your videos. So we decided to go shopping to kill some time (Target's evil plan!)

- We didn't see my friends and later got a phone call where they reported they were at instead since they had more of the "special - Bella Wedding Dress" editions of the movies.

-Stopped at 711 for some Dr Peppers.

- Stopped at McDonalds for some food (after a bit of driving around)
-Thought we found the “new” Kapolei Walmart (still under construction)

- Finally arrive at Walmart at 11:30pm. Our friends are in line and I totally have no shame in cutting in line with them since I am exhausted and ready to go home already. Walmart all the crazies quarantined in the Gardening section where they were handing out cake and showing Breaking Dawn on a flat screen TV-which was AWESOME….too bad we spent our whole night driving around when we could’ve been enjoying the movie!
Anyway, a couple minutes prior to them opening the lines up they asked a few trivia questions and handed out prizes. Then we were free to FINALLY get our very own copies of Breaking Dawn!

After getting our copies, we decided to go BACK to Target to see the "special" 2 minute never-before-seen peek at Breaking Dawn part2.
- We got there just in time for the last showing of the clip at 12:45am. The junkie thing is that they have ALL the TVs showing the same thing with ALL of the sound on coming out of each TV so you could hardly understand a thing. Just as the clip was wrapping up the target employees notify us that they are closing and we have to buy our merchandise. So we quickly run to the front of the store to check out.
-By this time I was BEAT, but was still waiting around for something exciting to happen, so we head on back to my friend's place to at least watch the special features,

I ended up getting home around 3:30am. Only to wake up for ward clean up at 7:00 am and a Stake Training meeting at 10 am. I also got in my 1 hour walk in-between (cuz I'm THAT hardcore!- check out Sommer’s Success to see how I’m doing on my exercise challenge).

-And finally I took a big fat 3 1/2 hour nap that afternoon.

When evening came I had my OWN release party at my place with more Wolf Pack Weiners, Fresh Strawberry Lemonade, Hurricane Popcorn, Strawberries and Chili Nachos! I was EXHAUSTED but was excited to have all my twi-friends around to share in the movie.
So I think I had my fill of Breaking Dawn Activities…I’m not sure if I’ll do it again….but then again there is ONLY 1 more movie left……

At least this years’ release was WAY better than the first Twilight movie release which basically was me and a handful of other people standing around a big box that the Walmart worker opened and unceremoniously handed to each of us at midnight.
I was SUPER disappointed with Targets arrangements for the release. But my Favorite store Walmart really came through with their release of Breaking Dawn as they had AMPLE copies of their special "Bella's Wedding Dress" edition...SO MANY copies that there is a plethera available even now when I go to walmart...which irritates me....but their special edition came with a HUGE fabric poster  Edward and Bella on it.

So I pretty much went on a wild goose chase spanning 85.13 miles over a 6 hour period for a piece of store bought cake and  to get a fabric poster.....so much for staying up all night to get the movie….but it’s the experience that counts….right?!

  1. I think it's now official...You're NUTS! haha. I can't believe all the crazy things you do;0) But I have to admit, it looks like it was a fun party--with fun treats! Why didn't you just leave it at that? haha. Your makeup looks really good! And your story about the Twilight release "party" at walmart made me laugh. Sounded pretty lame. HAHAHAHA. And I liked your usage of "AMPLE" supply. heehee.
